I had an excellent time reading this book and once you start reading it, it's hard to put down. It encourages one to put love, compassion in action which is what makes anyone want to know and serve Jesus. Many Christians have isolated themselves from the world, but no this is not God's plan we must seek after those (of course without compromising our Christian values) that are in pain, sorrow and show them the love of God, that through Christ nothing is impossible. There is a hurting and dying world out there that needs to experience God's love and compassion for them. The stories and experiences he shares pull you in and give you a glimpse of what compassion looks like. Compassion compels us to act and move beyond our preference and our comfort zones. If we step out and begin to see the world through the eyes of God, then we will see the change happen. I was refreshed and encouraged by this account of how compassion can change the world around. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Compassion is truly a very powerful driving force that compels us to love the unloved, to step out of our comfort zones and go to places we've never thought we could go, or do things we've never thought we were capable of. Whatever social or economic background, when compassion envelops our innermost being, we can't help it but give in to what God leads us to do and we do it out of pure joy! Amidst the squalor and disease, we see hope and life. This is what Paul Chase wants us to discover in his book, "Thru His Eyes". In spite of being a good Christian and loving God, there is more of Jesus in each one of us that begs to be revealed.
"When the love of God takes hold of us and we see people as Christ sees them, nothing can stand against it or prevent us from loving people with His love." This became my prayer and heart's desire. "Thru His Eyes" can serve as a challenge or stir up a passion to always be moved with compassion. Read with an open heart and be ready to step out!
Paul Chase stirred the compassion in me for people. There is too much talk and not enough action in the Body of Christ. Rev Chase uses scriptures and countless real life experiences to show how the power of compassion can make a difference.
